My stay at The Kingsview Townhouse had its ups and downs. The location was a definite perk, especially during the festival season when the value was excellent. However, I faced some issues, like the skylight that kept waking me up with the morning sun. The lack of visible staff made me feel a bit uneasy, and I had a few lock problems with my room door.

Rooms
6.0
The room was generally clean, but the skylight made it tough to sleep. I also noticed that some beds looked quite basic, almost like camp beds. Having a room without a window felt a bit claustrophobic.
Service

The check-in process was a bit disorganized. I struggled to contact the hotel when I was running late, and after the young man showed me to my room, I hardly saw any staff during my stay.

I didn't explore the dining options much, but I did hear about some homemade rolls that sounded tempting.
Facilities

The overall facilities felt quite basic, with no communal spaces that I noticed. It gave off more of a hostel vibe than a boutique experience.

I had a mixed experience during my stay at The Kingsview Townhouse. While I found the cleanliness to be satisfactory and appreciated the helpfulness of the staff, the overall value felt high due to high demand. The amenities were quite basic, but I had no major issues during my solo night there.

5.6/10

My stay at The Kingsview Townhouse was quite disappointing. While the location was decent and it was easy to get to the city center, the overall condition of the room left much to be desired. I found the lack of staff, especially during my check-in, concerning, and some amenities did not meet expectations.

Rooms
5.0
I was placed in a budget single room in the basement that lacked a window, making it feel unsafe and uncomfortable. The bed resembled a camp bed and did not look inviting at all.
Service
5.0
Getting in touch with the hotel was a challenge, as I couldn’t contact them via phone for late check-in. The young man who assisted me provided codes for entry and left, which felt a bit transactional.
Location

The accessibility to the city center was okay, but the findability of the hotel was tricky due to misleading signage and an overgrown hedge.

The building felt unstable, as every movement in the corridor resulted in shaking. Additionally, the toilet was noisy and made unsettling sounds, which added to the discomfort.

My stay at The Kingsview Townhouse was quite disappointing. The location was somewhat convenient for exploring Edinburgh, but the overall condition of the room left a lot to be desired. I faced multiple issues that overshadowed my experience.

Rooms
5.0
The budget single room had a broken shower and no privacy due to a curtainless skylight. The cleanliness was questionable, and I found a half-drunk bottle of wine left in the corner. It just felt dirty.
Service
5.0
I struggled to reach the staff during check-in, having to bang on the door multiple times. There was little assistance available when I needed it.
Location
6.0
The location wasn't bad. It was reasonably close to bus stops for getting into the city center, which was a plus.
Dining
5.0
I didn't get to experience any dining options, as it seemed more focused on basics rather than fine or unique offerings.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities felt outdated and poorly maintained. The laundry machines weren't functioning well, which added to the overall feeling of neglect.
